Upcoming changes in the Terms and Conditions of Registration for .SE and .NU
- Will I be affected by the changes?
- May I respond to the referral?
- What changes are the Swedish Internet Foundation proposing to the Terms and Conditions of Registration?
The Swedish Internet Foundation has published a so-called referral, inviting you to submit comments on the changes they propose to the Terms and Conditions of Registration for the top-level domains .SE and .NU. The feedback is used to investigate what consequences the changes could have if they were to be implemented. Here is some more information about the Swedish Internet Foundation's referral!
Will I be affected by the changes?
It depends. The Swedish Internet Foundation manages all the domains that use the TLDs .SE or .NU and are thus affected by the Terms and Conditions of Registration. This means that your domains may be affected by the proposed changes to the registration terms for the two TLDs.
May I respond to the referral?
Of course! Anyone who has views on the proposed changes has the opportunity to send in their feedback. Send your referral response via e-mail to remissvar@internetstiftelsen.se no later than April 10, 2024. Refer to the referral in the subject line.
What changes are the Swedish Internet Foundation proposing to the Terms and Conditions of Registration?
Addition for new registrations: Domain names that are newly registered will not be published in the .se zone if there is, or can be assumed to be, an insufficiency in the requirement for complete and correct information about the owner.
Clarification for deactivation: Notices of deactivation of a domain name may come to an owner not only from the Swedish Internet Foundation but also from registrars, in case of non-fulfillment of obligations.
Changes in owner information for .NU: Foreign owners can provide information about foreign identity designations corresponding to company registration numbers or personal identity numbers. The proposal matches the existing Terms and Conditions of Registration for .SE.
The changes are intended to take effect from June 3, 2024.
