What is extended PHP Support and why do you need it?
Older PHP versions are not supported by security updates. Once the official PHP support ends, your website is at risk of attacks. This can lead to the theft of sensitive data or the misuse of your website for spreading malware.
With our Extended PHP Support, we keep your website running smoothly even after the official support ends. This gives you more time to upgrade without compromising on security.
Extended PHP support keeps your website safe and secure
Better safe than sorry. Without Extended Support, websites using older PHP versions become increasingly vulnerable to security threats. Once the PHP community ends the active support, outdated versions no longer receive automatic security updates.
While we offer support for older versions, we recommend upgrading to the latest PHP versions. In addition to security, you’ll benefit from enhanced features, better performance, and ongoing community support.

What is PHP?
PHP is an open-source programming language. It is the most commonly used language in popular CMS systems, such as WordPress/Woocommerce, Joomla, Drupal, and Opencart. The PHP programming language is constantly evolving. A new version is released every year and has a life cycle of about 3 years. During the first two years, the version receives regular updates. In its third and final year, the version only receives updates for critical security vulnerabilities. That is why older PHP versions are a website security risk, as they no longer receive essential security updates.
How do I order Extended PHP Support?
You can order Extended PHP Support in two ways. First, add the desired hosting package to your cart, then click “Configure the package” in the cart and select the option for Extended PHP Support. Alternatively, you can order the hosting package without the support initially and add it later at any time through the service administration section.
